I researched more into Marianne Goldin after seeing this illustration, as I loved the detail and atmosphere portrayed...
All of her illustrations seem to be so dramatic and even portray some kind of emotion...
She is an 'artist/illustrator, student, epicurian, polyglot, and all around busy-body, an ardent fan of the nib and its applications in pen and ink'. She is also into printmaking, typography, ink, layout, texture and original colour. She was born in Ukraine, but lives and works in Seattle.

I absolutely love the image of the eye that you have posted...it draws you in completely. I really like the fact you have chosen an artist who pretty much relies on their technical skill to gain acclaim and admiration from her viewers.
So often now all you see are artists trying to shock people, rather than stick to the skill based art work that so many people love to see. She has become one of my favourite artists!
